Kramer Comes Unhinged

Mel Gibson must be jumping for joy.
Another Hollywood celebrity has gone off the rails with a racist rant, eclipsing Mad Mel's infamous tirade.
Only this time, the offending individual, comic actor Michael Richards, was unable to retreat behind the shield of alcoholism.
Best known for his character Cosmo Kramer in the hit '90s sitcom "Seinfeld," Richards came unhinged at a heckler during a November 18 performance at the Laugh Factory comedy club.
By the time the comedian stormed off stage, nobody was laughing.
The meltdown was caught on a cell phone video camera and soon spread like wildfire via Internet posts.
By Monday, the story had been picked up by network news.
In the video, Richards is seen shouting racial epithets at an African American audience member.
The clip sparked shock and disbelief amongst Richard's fans and fellow actors.
Richard's did his best to make amends Monday night when he appeared by satellite feed on the "The Late Show with David Letterman."
The on-air apology was arranged by Richard's former costar, Jerry Seinfeld, who was Letterman's scheduled guest.
Richards said his tirade was "a horrible, horrible mistake" and that he was "sick over" it.
For some, the moody mea culpa was as unnerving as the offending video.
"It was one of those things that are a little difficult to watch, but you can't stop watching," Late Show producer Jude Brennan later told the New York Times.
