    說明：
    clip 有「剪去；修剪」的意思，而 clip (someone's) wings 的字面意思是「剪去（某人的）雙翼」，鳥類的雙翼若是被修剪過，當然就無法恣意飛翔了。可藉此用來比喻「限制（某人的）自由：使（某人）受挫」。
